On a cruise, you unpack once and your floating hotel and settle in.   When you arrive onboard, you’ll get a schedule of activities that you can go to if you want, or you can lay in bed ordering room service for the whole trip. It’s totally up to you.  Meals are included of course and the options are usually plentiful. That’s not to say every meal should be enjoyed on board, but it’s nice to know the option is there should you need it. Cruise ships are divided into segments, part hotel and part restaurant.  Depending on the cruise line and the ship, you’ll have a choice of casual and fine dining options, as well as 24/7 room service and bar food.

Cruise ships typically dock in at least one port, and longer cruises stop at more. At each one you’ll have a list of available excursions that give you the chance to explore and discover the history, culture, food and personality of the people who inhabit your stop of the day.
